Saturday Long Run Report

I did a few more miles than I expected to today. Felt ok. I would have run 6.5 out, but at 5.5 the wind was just about knocking me off the road and the rain was starting to sting my face, and it was hilly and my ankle started twitching (it never pinched which was good). and...and... I can come up with reasons all day. I turned around and headed back, and figured I'd run a 2 mile loop in Sykesville to make up fo it and try to get the 13 because I felt better the closer I got to home....for a while anyway. At mile 11.5 I was praying for the angels to come take me home...look up and there's Missi! Hahahaha. I took it as a sign. I don't feel bad about not getting the 13 in. I won more battles today than I expected too just getting out and going. Confidence was low at the start of the run.

AT feels better today than it did Thursday evening. Knock on wood.

Turned the ipod to play ALL songs...sort of a pot luck kind of day. Right around mile 10, I think she knew we were struggling, so out of the 3900+ songs she had to choose from for me, she choose the Rocky Theme Song. Bah bah baaaah bummmmm. Bapa bapa bummmmm.... Yeah, you know the tune now. I giggled, and smiled for the whole song.

Cluelessness & Courage

I have nothing to say lately (usually). So here is some inspirational reading I enjoyed today.

The Clueless Manifesto

As a result of reading that, I checked out this:

The Superb Seven

Sorry, I messed up Movie Monday again. You'll get over it.

Movie Monday

I was out running for most of the game, and missed this. I guess I kind of found it a bit funny, I mean, the tackle is legit, but come on, picking him up by his hair? Oh well, it looked like Troy didn't even really care anyway. I'm sure Missi and Roni would have been upset if they saw it happen to their hero.

Sunday Long Run Report

I don't have anything to say good or bad about my run today. The weather is getting colder and I guess I don't mind it so much. I raked about 10 wheel barrow loads of porkypines (pine tree needles) out of my yard this weekend, and started burning them. The house smelt like smoke all night. Did the last mowing (hopefully) of the year and cleaned up the mower, and found a dead mouse in the engine. This, after half way through mowing, I stopped and chased a live mouse out of the mower with a stick. They are welcome to spend the winter under my mower as long as they don't start eyeing up the house.

Been listening to Simply Stu and really enjoying some of his earlier Interview Series. I am trying real hard not to even think about possible triathalons, need to get over this first hill.

Back on the wagon

After a week off, it felt good to get back out today and test the AT. I ran hard and didn't have any problems. Looking forward to 88 more days of good, healthy, injury free training.

Getting the thumbs up today:

Axe body wash - Recovery
It smells and looks like lemon-lime gatorade to me. An obvious choice for any runner.

Getting the thumbs down:

Jennifer Wilbanks I know it's a long shot, but it is running related...The runaway bride...get it? Nevermind.

Sunday Long Run Report

The Sunday Long Run Report will from now on be moved to Saturdays, which is when I will now perform all long runs. Except that I don't think I'll be running much for a while. I ran yesterday, but too lazy and mad to report out until today. I don't know what is wrong with my achilles. I guess I had better lay off of it and get it 100% before I think about much of anything else. I was stupid to run yesterday but felt fine until mile 8 of 9. Other than that it was a nice run and a really great 35 degree rainy day, what wasn't there to love? I won't complain about the weather, because soon enough, I'll be wishing for 35 and rainy.

This will happen....it will.
